The data controller for this website is Wakefield Console Repairs.
Address: 29 Winthorpe Crescent, Thorpe on the Hill, Leeds, Wakefield, WF3 3EF.
Phone: 07766 821884

2. Information I Collect
When you book a repair, I collect minimal information to get the job done:

  • Your name, phone number, and email.
  • Your console serial number (for warranty tracking).
  • Your address (only if I am collecting/delivering the device).

3. How I Use Your Data
I use your data strictly to:

  • Update you on your repair status.
  • Test your device functions.
  • Validate your 6-Month Warranty.

I never sell your data to third parties.

4. Data Security
I do not access personal files on your hard drive unless absolutely necessary for the repair (e.g., hard drive replacement or data transfer).

5. Cookies
This site uses standard Google Analytics cookies to see which pages are popular. You can disable these in your browser settings at any time.

6. Your Rights
You can ask to see or delete your data at any time by contacting me directly.

Terms and Conditions of Repair

1. No Fix, No Fee Policy
If I cannot successfully repair your console, you do not pay a penny. This applies to all standard repairs.
Exception: If your device has been previously opened, tampered with, or damaged by a failed amateur repair attempt, I reserve the right to charge a £45 diagnostic fee to cover the time spent inspecting the damage.

2. 6-Month Warranty
I provide a comprehensive 6-month warranty on all hardware repairs. This covers the specific part I replaced and my labour.

  • What IS covered: If the replaced part fails again naturally.
  • What is NOT covered: New physical damage (e.g., dropping the console), liquid damage, or unrelated faults that occur later.

3. Data & Saved Games
While I take every precaution to protect your data, Wakefield Console Repairs accepts no liability for loss of data (game saves, profiles, clips) during the repair process.

Recommendation: Please back up your data to the cloud (PS Plus / Xbox Live) before dropping off your device. If a hard drive fails, data loss is often unavoidable.

4. Unclaimed Devices
Due to limited storage space, devices must be collected within 90 days of notification that the repair is complete (or deemed unrepairable).

If a device is not collected within 90 days, I reserve the right to dispose of or sell the device to recover costs, in accordance with the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977.

5. Liquid Damage
Liquid damage repairs are unpredictable. While I can often revive the console, corrosion can spread over time. Therefore, liquid damage repairs are not covered by the standard warranty unless explicitly stated in writing.

6. Manufacturer Warranty
Please be aware that opening your console for repair will likely void any remaining warranty from Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo. By authorising a repair, you accept this risk.
